2. Protein hydrolysis is a process during which proteins are broken down into smaller parts, as a result of which a dog’s immune system doesn’t identify them as allergens. This is because small particles of a broken - down ingredient do not cause allergic reactions. Pet food with hydrolysed proteins is recommended for pets with allergies. What’s more, hydrolysed proteins are easier to digest.
